4 Months Late : Fully Flared

I know its a bit late, but on November the 16th 2007, i witnessed one of, if not THEE most significant skateboarding film ever made

The crew consisted of - Ash Lever aka The Peoples Champ, John King, Andy Rhodes aka Rhodes, Alright Cambridge, Alright Rosie (the list goes on) Glen Cone aka The Cone and Me. The day started early (7:30am) , and not just for me!

Rhodes couldnt handle the early start! He was literally this moody all the way there.

mmmm Breakfast!

Early morning suck!

So we got to London around 11am, and hoped we could get a skate in before we had to get to the cinema. We went to the euston banks for a little roll around (little ones not big one!) and Me and Glen ended up trying to get tricks on this cornered bank. Glen did backslide tailslide over the corner, but i dont think he was that into it.

(Glen filming me, note the shirts! haha)

We then headed over to the big banks. I was eying up a nollie tre into it, but as soon as i had ollied into it for a warm up, the heavens opened. day overrrr

We headed over to Camden to get some food, by this time it was fooking freezing! we made a stop at the skate park, and Champ manged somehow to do a massive backside flip over the hip in the soaking wet! props!

I had Tickets to the earlier public showing, so we took our boards back to the car early, and i headed to the Prince Charles Cinema to see Fully Flared. I rushed to get there, but got in with ease, albeit fucking soaked! Luckily i knew a few people who were at the same showing, so i sat with them, and watched Mike Carroll introduce the long awaited epic. I had alot of thoughts about this video before it am out, and was looking forward to see if the video lives up to the hype!

Unsurprisingly, it did. One and half hours of pure genius. every section amazing. filmed beautifully, with great use of HD cameras. The skating itself, was on a whole other level. at the time i couldn't believe that skateboarding had been operating at this level for so long without anyone knowing about it. Marc Johnson's and Guy Mariano's sections epically. The level of progression, creativity, and imagination these guys have in their about skateboarding is beyond me. Half of the tricks they do have never been done before, and half of them i would have never of thought of in a thousand years. They go beyond anything ever achieved on a skateboard. THIS IS THE FUTURE!

I left the theater with such a buzz, such a thrill. Ive never experienced this with a skateboard video before, it effected me in that big of a way. I think the word is disbelief. i walked back to the tube station, as i was getting fucking soaked, and saw the guys, who had been getting beers or something. Now comes the lame bit, waiting around in London for an hour and a half while they watch the film in the vip screening. Luckily they managed to get a spare one, and i got to see the whole thing again! This was ace, because the length of the video, and amount of new tricks they do, is sometimes confusing and hard to take in in one sitting.

The vip area was so much better, much better seats (upstairs this time not downstairs)
and i saw quite a few pros walking around, Mike Mo, Biebal, Carroll, Jesus and Rob Welsh where all present, and obviously so where all the London based pros.

At the end, we headed for the after party! super stoked!

EC RPRZNT

OJ RPRZNT!

The best thing about the after show party was, Lucas Puig, who i think has the best part in the video, standing literally 3 feet away from me... stoked!

We got the tube back to the car about 11, and drove back to Low. I think we got in about 3 or something

This is what me and Rhodes did on the way back

Mario kart on ds is the best!

Overall, we where all so stoked on the video, it made up for the shitty weather! Nice one Blueprint and Ash for hooking my tickets up!

P.S EVERYONE WATCH FULLY FLARED NOW
